I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing mental health challenges and/or life transitions. My approach to individual therapy is to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I aim to help my clients overcome their current challenges and to equip them with lifelong skills for future problem solving. I use a collaborative theoretical approach, including evidence-based and solution-focused practices that facilitate change.
In addition to individual counseling, I am trained as a Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor and serve as a consultant to schools in Virginia and New York. As a YMHFA Instructor, I work with faculty and families to identify signs/symptoms of mental health challenges to ensure early and appropriate intervention when it's needed.
Prior to opening my private practice, I spent 13 years working with children, adolescents, and their families in clinical and school-based settings. Born and raised in the New York Metropolitan area, I moved to New York City after graduating from College and lived there for 12 years before moving to Charlottesville, VA with my family.
