The first step to beginning therapy is to want to make a change. You won't be successful without that initial desire. It could be the tiniest desire, but if it's there, I can work with that! You may not know what your goals are. You may not know what your needs are. You just know that you want to make a change, and I'll be there to support those efforts!
I use a very down-to-earth approach in therapy, which matches my personality. I find that clients tend to feel a sense of relief wash over them when we begin to delve into the "less fun" aspects of therapy because while I am approachable, I am also practical. I feel my therapy style is best described as fair, but firm.
The most important part of the client-therapist relationship is making sure you are comfortable and know you're in a safe, non-judgmental space. I meet clients where they are, working together to meet your goals and never acting as if I am the expert. You are the expert of your own heart, mind, and soul- I am just here to help you uncover the missing pieces.
