However, I also aim to understand how your past experiences and identities shape your worldview.

I specialize in treating OCD, anxiety, & perfectionism.
If you find yourself constantly caught up in a cycle of overthinking & overachieving, seeking balance and centeredness in your life, I am here to help. Through therapy, we will explore strategies to calm the racing thoughts, ease the pressure of constant doing, and rediscover a sense of harmony within yourself. While we may not possess the ability to directly control our thoughts & feelings, we do hold the power to consciously choose our responses to these internal experiences. Together, we can navigate the challenges you face, while embracing laughter, acceptance, and an authentic connection that promotes growth & well-being.

Are you finding that life is difficult to cope with due to lack of control of your emotions? I have a special interest in working with people who experience OCD, anxiety and ADHD. I will create a space where you can be your genuine self while feeling unjudged. Maybe you are unsure what your genuine self is, if so then our space can be the perfect start to discovering it. I know that being vulnerable can be difficult however through therapy, you do not need to face it alone. While beginning this journey of understanding I will guide you in the exploration of yourself as well as help you find acceptance and compassion.

I have extensive training and experience using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies (CBT) to treat anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and OCD related disorders.
I believe that using evidence-based techniques in a compassionate therapeutic relationship is the key to successful treatment. My work with my clients is grounded in empathy and connection while helping individuals gain insight into their struggles. As your therapist, I will help you to learn how to reduce the impact and influence of painful thoughts and feelings while taking action to build a life that is full and meaningful. You will also learn how to implement new techniques and skills and, ultimately, how to be your own therapist.

In addition to helping children and adults with grief, anxiety and depression, I work with neurodivergent adults, children and teens struggling with ADHD, OCD, PTSD, autism and executive dysfunction.
Going through profiles, you may not be sure what you are looking for in a therapist. I offer clients a free consultation call to determine what they need from both therapy and their therapist in order to move forward in life. If I’m not a good fit, I’ll provide you with referrals accordingly.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
