I am a licensed clinical social worker and licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor who has been practicing in Kentucky for over 23 years. I've practiced in a variety of different treatment settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and residential levels of care. In these settings, I have had extensive experience treating individuals with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, co-dependency, relationship and family issues. I’m a Licensed Clinical Counselor with extensive experience in counseling people with diverse needs. My expertise lies in helping people with Substance Use Disorders, typically accompanied with a Dual Diagnosis. I strive to help clients reach their goals to overcome their addiction, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, PTSD, ADHD, to live a healthier life by managing your symptoms. My goal is to build on your strengths and provide the support, motivation and guidance to be successful.

I am trained to work with adolescents and adults with a variety of mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, career and vocational issues, substance abuse, family/marital concerns, Alzheimer's disease, bereavement, anger, and other mood disorders. I utilize various treatment modalities, including cognitive behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy. I provide a holistic approach believing you are the expert on what can work for you and will work just as hard as you to help you achieve your goals.

I have an LCSW and extensive experience working with individuals who are trying to cope with a multitude of personal issues. Areas of interests include but are not limited to working with individuals who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance abuse, antagonistic relational stress, narcissistic abuse, chronic stress, or low self-esteem.

I believe in a person-centered approach when working with clients. In sessions I like to explore client’s strengths and weaknesses to facilitate growth in each area. I consider myself to be a very psychoeducational therapist, meaning my clients can expect to learn both inside and outside of sessions with supplemental resources or homework materials. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, providing compassionate evidence-based treatment to Kentuckians. I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and a person-centered approach with clients. CBT helps clients gain more understanding of their thoughts and behaviors, as well as change unhelpful thinking patterns that contribute to increased depression, anxiety, and other presenting concerns.

I've gained knowledge and skills working with clients who experienced anxiety and mood disorders, adjustment disorder, self-harm/suicide ideation, developmental disabilities, intimate and family relational conflict, parenting, and trauma-related diagnoses. Moreover, as a brainspotting practitioner, I utilize this trauma specific treatment by effectively helping to identify points in an individual's visual field to assist in retrieving unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain.

People seek me out because they find their current situation intolerable - they are sick and tired of experiencing shame, intense anger, depression and anxiety. Perhaps they want to work on their addiction - the thing they use to numb the painful experiences. Their relationships are suffering as a result of their behaviors, being closed off, or "too much" for others. Many struggle with feelings of inadequacy, perfectionism and a deep sense of futility, which prevents them from taking charge of their lives and confidently pursuing their heart's desire.

I provide a safe environment for clients to process their issues. I believe that psychotherapy is more than talk therapy. I am excited about the new research and treatments that focus on mind and body (somatic memories). I have an integrative approach to therapy. I work best with complex trauma (emotional and physical, including childhood neglect) and resulting anxiety and depression. I work well with grief related issues (complicated grief) and problems that arise from chronic illnesses.

Many of my clients have struggled with various forms of anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions and past trauma. Many of my clients have been women of color navigating challenges with family, work, grief, parenting and relationships, while attempting to cope with the stressors that come with these roles. Often, these clients are attempting to be the best version of themselves, and want assistance in identifying and strengthening ways to thrive, rather than merely survive.

I have experience working with individuals with a variety of different concerns including: depression, anxiety, grief, relational problems, mood disorders, trauma, and substance abuse. I engage clients in evidence based therapy interventions that include cognitive behavioral therapy, client centered therapy, and motivational interviewing. I provide clients with a safe, non judgement environment to help foster personal growth. I encourage clients to self reflect and look through their life with a difference lense. I believe that everyone has the ability to change and live a fulfilling life and will work just as hard as you to help you achieve your goals

I provide treatment to people who have addictions, their adult family members and people who have depression, bi-polar illness, or anxiety disorders. I look forward to seeing people create a healthy life and find their dreams.

I have worked with clients in recovery from addiction and sexual trauma. I am currently seeing clients 16 years old and older including families and couples. I've worked with those struggling with grief, relationship issues, addiction, anxiety, depression, and issues related to identity.
