Every human being has the emotional need to be understood and validated. When this need is met, we can find our true selves and live an authentic life, which brings happiness and satisfaction. However, when this is absent from our lives, we struggle just to survive and we experience pain and suffering. Some of us are fortunate to have people in our lives who try to support and help us, but their comments and feedback are limited by their lack of training as a therapist and by their personal perspectives and values.

I work with people who are considering whether psychedelics are right for them, who are preparing to use a psychedelic, or who are seeking to integrate. I've helped my patients make the most of both positive and difficult experiences, while reducing negative outcomes. This expertise has been developed through work with my patients, my training in and provision of MDMA-assisted Psychotherapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Integrative Harm Reduction for Substance Use Disorders, and from teaching other health providers about Psychedelic Integration through Fluence Psychedelic Training.

Morgan’s theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with components deriving from her experience in Motivational Interviewing and Functional Family Therapy. Morgan brings empathy and enthusiasm to sessions, which she thinks has a positive influence on the therapeutic relationship. Morgan believes it is critical to have an individualized, multicultural, and strength-based approach while working collaboratively with the client to ensure effectiveness of treatment. She has experience with adults, adolescents, children, groups, couples, and families dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties.

Engaging in psychotherapy is a courageous act, and I have a great deal of respect for people taking steps toward healing. I am a licensed psychologist providing relational psychodynamic therapy for young adults (primarily 20s and 30s) struggling with early family trauma, perfectionism and self-criticism, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, identity concerns, body image and eating concerns, anxiety, depression, and more. I provide a warm, open, accepting space, knowing that it is necessary to feel safe and understood before you can experiment with change and growth.

I use combine traditional talk therapy with mindfulness techniques, arts based interventions, and play therapy when working with children. I hold masters in both social work and education, which allows for specific insight into trauma stewardship and supporting those engaged helping professions.
