The focus of my work as a clinical psychologist for over 27 yrs has been to actively engage with my clients to help them develop a feeling of personal competency and positive self-worth, and an ability to deeply understand where they have been, where they are now, and where they want to go. I strive to provide a safe and nurturing relationship so each person can explore and expand their own creativity in resolving emotional conflicts and difficulties, understanding problems in couple, family, friendship and workplace relationships, making important life decisions and coping with issues of aging.

My clinical interests include working with individuals coping with autism spectrum disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, stress management and relationship related issues including boundary setting and communication skills. My primary treatment modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution- Focused and Mindfulness techniques.

Sometimes life brings challenges that leave us standing in need of additional support. You may find yourself surviving anxiety, hurt in relationship, grieved by loss, or trying to find footing in a life transition. You may desire a safe space to lament, to ask questions, to learn you are not alone, and to build upon your strengths. I will partner with you, as you work to understand and address the challenges before you.

In my work experience I have provided clinical support to a wide variety of individuals working through a number of concerns such as ADHD, Grief and Loss, Depression, Anxiety, Severe Panic Attacks, Trauma, Relationship concerns, Self-harm, Domestic violence and adjusting to new life circumstances. I have also worked in large part at a providing clinical services to teens suffering from severe mental illness and helping them cope with difficult life circumstances and develop a positive and fulfilling outlook on the present.

Therapy can be an essential support to help you reduce stress, process issues, and find more joy in life. I aim to help clients find peace in themselves and the world around them. Whether we are focused on learning better coping skills, addressing addiction, or processing past traumas, we will use the therapy relationship to meet your goals.

Emotional distress can arise from a number of sources, for a variety of reasons. I work with patients to help them make sense of what they're feeling, so that a course of action can be set toward change and mastery. The goal is to feel and function better, and to engage more fully in life, career, relationship. I work primarily with adults in individual therapy and offer consultation to families, couples and primary care physicians. Presenting problems often include depression, anxiety and relationship distress.

I work with clients throughout the life span. I believe it is important to develop a relationship and assist the client to creating goals toward their own behavior change. We will explore the client's background and past events that have caused the client to seek out support to better their future. I do challenge a client to address when their actions are not working toward the goals they have set for therapy.

You're not a diagnosis or label but a unique individual. I won't treat you like "patient" because you're not one. We'll work together to reach your goals so you can start to "live the life you want."
