Central to the therapy process is the creation of a safe, supportive relationship in which the therapist sees and respects who the client is. From this place of safety and connection it is possible to set aside the noise of the world and begin focusing on getting reacquainted with your core self; and on the needs, strengths and values which can often be neglected.
This core part of ourselves is something we never lose. It develops strength and depth throughout our lives, much like a tree buffeted by strong winds. But sometimes, as we encounter hurts in life, we can lose touch and find ourselves viewing the world from the perspective of our wounded parts rather than from our core self.
For 10 years, I have provided support in healing from trauma, in tending to grief and loss, and in reduction of anxiety or depression. I integrate evidence-based practices, including DBT, EMDR, and IFS with an understanding of neurobiology, highlighting the importance of connection between mind and body. We operate best in life when these are integrated.
