My approach as a Licensed Professional Counselor is encouraging people to focus on life's realities and make adjustments to help improve their lives. In my thirty years of experience I have worked with adults, adolescents, and combat veterans in residential treatment, community mental health, and corrections. I have helped people with Mental Illness, Substance Abuse Disorders, and Intellectual Disabilities. My clinical strengths are helping clients gain insight into their relationships and cope with serious mental illness.
Having someone objective to talk to brings clarity. I encourage clients to use logic to guide decisions while validating their emotions. I have a knack for helping clients identify patterns in their behaviors and relationships.
I am generally described as a genuine and no nonsense kind of person. I truly enjoy seeing clients grow and feel better. I believe that healthy interpersonal boundaries and effective communication are key to healthy relationships. When working with men, I focus on helping them embrace their roles and responsibilities in today's challenging culture.
