I believe a good counselor works their way out of a job...one client at a time. We all get "stuck" in life from time to time. My goal is to provide you with knowledge, tools, guidance, and support so that you can get "unstuck" and move on. Therapy is not magic...but it works. We keep these events in our minds, whether at the front to consciously influence all of our decisions, or packed away in a box in a corner, to be dealt with ‘in the future’. When your box begins to overflow or you realize that it is time to open it, I’m here to help you unpack, sort, and re-pack the box. My goal is to help you regain control of the box, so that the box no longer controls you.

We focus on building healthy relationships, setting boundaries, managing anxiety, OCD, exploring family dynamics and boosting coping skills. I work with adult trauma, relational trauma, grief and challenging life seasons. With couples, we practice effective communication, build understanding, set realistic expectations, and pursue emotional safety. We address family of origin and other individual struggles, and (re) create a meaningful connection with each other. My worldview is Christian.

When working with clients, I join them in their journey, walking alongside for the time we are working together. I believe the human person is made good, made for relationship, and that fullness of life is found in being able to be a gift to another. I believe life can be hard sometimes, and this can hinder our ability to have what we hope for in relationships. In therapy, I work with clients to resolve the concerns that prevent them from achieving the goals they have for their lives; with a focus on the healing of past experiences of trauma. I consider it an honor and privilege to serve my clients.

I specialize in treating clients with anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder self-esteem issues, dysfunctional relationship patterns, boundary issues, and a variety of other issues. I utilize Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and Rational Emotoive Behavior Therapy (REBT). Both of these modalities are evidence based and have been shown to be extremely effective. I know what it’s like to not be living the life you want because of these types of issues, but there is a different way. We can get there together.

These types of events often create significant psychological shifts, fostering a unique openness to self-exploration and change. Experiencers typically possess heightened self-awareness and may have re-evaluated their life priorities and values, which can facilitate a deeper therapeutic process. Their experiences can serve as a powerful catalyst for personal growth, making them exceptionally receptive to psychotherapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing mental well-being and life satisfaction.

I love helping adults from all stages and walks of life to understand the things that are holding them back in order to find ways through them. After recognizing underlying barriers, we can work towards fully realizing your strengths and adjusting certain behaviors and thoughts to see things and be yourself in a healthier way. In our first session together, we'll complete an assessment focused on exploring your past and present, current challenges and strengths, and specific problems that you hope to overcome. We'll discuss your specific goals for counseling as well as my recommendations for treatment to move towards those goals.
