Throughout my life, I’ve had many experiences that contributed to my love of counseling and my role as a therapist, they have led to a passionate belief that everyone’s story is important and giving a voice to those stories is invaluable. I began my career as a teacher in the U.S. and abroad, and have over 15 years of experience in international non-profit work. I grew to love hearing other’s stories and saw the healing power of true relationships. I eventually returned to school to become a counselor and turned my passion into a path for healing, and I consider it an honor to do the work I do.

I research and write about the psychological and spiritual development of aging women and work almost exclusively with older women (40+). I primarily help women who struggle with anxiety, depression, empty nest, trauma, mental illness, or who are seeking psychological or spiritual growth, but I also have expertise in caretaking, chronic illness, and death and dying. I provide individual and group teletherapy/coaching to women throughout the United States and Canada. I do not offer in person sessions. After having a successful career in corporate America, l followed my passion for clinical counseling. I can integrate Christian values with my counseling expertise. My primary focus is trauma recovery. I work with couples, including sex love addictions. I also work with people that are just dealing with life issues.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Heidi Johanson, LPC-S. I graduated with a MEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. I have had experience in working with clients who have depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD/Trauma, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, Domestic violent relationships, substance use disorders and life adjustment stressors. My goal as a counselor is to find a tailored approach to meeting each client's specific needs to help uncover their strength. The years of experience I have in the behavioral health field has helped shaped me to be non judgmental.

I have 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents and their families in a school setting. My experience as a school counselor allows me to work effectively with families and school related issues. I also have extensive experience working with victims of domestic violence and providing grief counseling. I am CISM (Critical Incident Stress Debriefing) trained and a Love and Logic facilitator.

With insight the child and therapist can collaborate to reduce the child's current stressors possibly leading to problematic behaviors.

I learned an invaluable lesson from one of my educators, he told me "no one has the right to minimize your feelings. To one person, failing their algebra test might be the worst day of their lives, to another it might be losing their grandfather. No matter what others may say or think, no one has the authority to tell you how you should feel." These are the words I live by and bring into every session.
