I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. I earned my doctorate at Nova University School of Professional Psychology, my Master's Degree at Duquesne University, and my Bachelor's Degree from Washington and Jefferson College. I completed an APA approved internship at the VA Medical Center in Salem Virginia. My almost thirty years experience is in both inpatient and outpatient psychotherapy, and have worked in private practice since 1985. I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I treat a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, relationship issues, anger management, ADD/ADHD/ODD, loss, behavioral management, and thought disorders.

I have been practicing in the mental health profession since 1973 using recognized best practices for the assessment & treatment of behavioral health issues. I have been accepted in state & federal courts as a clinical & forensic mental health expert in both criminal & civil court proceedings for both defense & prosecution. The focus of our practice is upon providing client focused behavioral health care services which are results driven to a wide range client base. I am a nationally & internationally recognized published author & provide training services on a frequent basis. As a licensed clinical social worker with more than 40 years experience of working with families and individuals of all ages, I find that the most effective approach is one that is strengths-based with a strong emphasis on helping clients solve the problems that bring them to me for therapy and also on helping them develop powerful resiliency characteristics that allow for future problem-solving, conflict resolution, goal-attainment, wellness, and life satisfaction.
