In our sessions the main focus will be to guide you to utilize the strengths you have to make the desired change you want to see in your life.
At our sessions, we'll be using a blend of two powerful techniques: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solutions-Oriented Brief Treatment (SOBT). CBT helps us understand how your thoughts affect your feelings and behaviors, while SOBT focuses on finding practical solutions to the challenges you're facing. Together, we'll work on both managing your current struggles and building skills to navigate future ones. It's about finding the balance between understanding what's going on and taking action to make positive changes in your life."

Especially for some of the most successful among us, we can hold ourselves to the highest standards of performance in all areas. Sometimes we may feel that we're supposed to have all the answers to the challenges life throws our way, even when that isn’t always possible. An achievement focus can come at the expense of other areas of our lives. I see therapy as a collaborative experience. I work with individuals and couples to help unlock what holds them back to gain an understanding of how our histories shape our present, while building a foundation of skills in the here-in-now to promote healing and a future that is self-defined.

I believe that every client has the power and the will to change, and my goal is to help you navigate through your life to find them.
Clients bring different issues and needs to therapy: addictions, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and the list goes on. I believe that they are seeking counseling/therapy because they want to fix, change, and overcome things. That's where I come into play. I may not have all the answers, tools, and steps to change everything, but I know how to work with the clients as they process their needs.

I provide relationship coaching to support, empower, and teach couples how to be happy together again. So many couples are simply missing the tools needed to create the healthy relationship they want. Partners need to know the "rules" of healthy communication, fighting constructively, and repairing the breaks that occur between them. When you understand why couples fight and how unresolved conflicts snowball into deep resentment and unhappiness, you're able to help reverse it. I believe teaching the underlying principles allows each partner to trust the process and invest in making changes.

Using the science-based technique (CBT) cognitive behavior therapy, I will help you explore thoughts about people, places, and things in your life. We can either learn to be happier in the lives we have, or gain the strength and motivation to change it into the life we want. Therapy is best when it is a conversation between two genuine people. I like the analogy of the therapist as a seasoned woodsman, who meets you, lost in your personal forest. As you walk and talk, the woodsman subtly uses known cues about how to get out of the woods.

You deserve to be happy. Life can be difficult. Don't go it alone. Allow me to help you explore the things that are keeping you "stuck," whether it be relationships, career, health or addiction. Sometimes you just need to process feelings with an objective listener, one that can get to the heart of what's really going on and help you to live life in a more satisfying, productive manner. I have been helping individuals, couples and families move through crises and live happier, healthier lives. I can help you, too!

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
