My approach draws heavily from logotherapy, which promotes action toward finding life’s purpose.
It takes courage to tell your story, be vulnerable, and practice introspection. But as the old saying goes, “a problem shared is a problem halved.” Whether you’re experiencing challenges in your relationships, family, career, health, or questioning your life path, we’ll work together to find a solution. I’m a Counselor and Life Coach who supports people during life transitions—including marriage, divorce, career changes, motherhood, and grief and loss. Whatever you’re going through, I’ll be a compassionate listener who reframes the situation and so you can see it in a different, more positive, light.

Happiness elevates the odds of prolonging life.
When we are wrestling with anxiety or depression, all we think of is getting rid of the pain. But actually, the focus must be on making you emotionally healthy, i.e., enabling you to become a happy and fulfilled individual. In my 40 years of working with people, all emotional ill-ease dissipates with a robust sense of confidence and resulting good mood. Think of those moments when you have felt entirely confident and happy. Did you experience any emotional discomfort? Of course not. For those moments, you felt wonderful. It is psychotherapies’ goal/mission to give you the tools to elevate your mood every single day of your life.

If you're dealing with depression, anxiety, mood swings, past trauma, or just feeling like you're not moving forward in life, we'll work together to understand what might be holding you back.
My primary goal as a therapist is to help you become the best and most whole version of yourself. I offer an integrative approach to psychotherapy that employs insight and reflection (Psychodynamic Therapy) as well as active coping skills and goal-setting (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). I am also trained in Integrative Harm Reduction Therapy for those struggling with addictive and compulsive behaviors. Further, I believe lifestyle interventions around nutrition, exercise, meditation, and spirituality can be valuable tools for psychological well-being and I help my clients cultivate positive habits in these areas if applicable.

I live in New York City and I understand the challenges of balancing professional and family life in a fast-paced urban environment.
Did you move to NY to succeed but you are not where you thought you would be? Do you often question your career choices and can’t seem to find the best “next step”? Do you catch yourself criticizing your life on a daily basis? Whether you are an immigrant or simply relocating from another state, Gotham inevitably captures you. I know that it sounds cliché but the energy of the city is present in every sector. And you will soon realize, if you have not already, that when you work and/or reside in an environment surrounded by thousands of talented people your desire to succeed becomes even greater.

I work with clients weekly and focus on fears and patterns that hold them back. I'm a licensed psychologist with a certification in life coaching, so sometimes we will co-create homework assignments to help my clients take 'baby steps' towards their goals in between sessions, in order to integrate our work into your daily life. I accept insurance for individual therapy, not couples therapy. My specialty is seeing couples and individuals re relationship issues. I'm offering a dating group via Zoom & a relationship skills group for those who want to improve their relationship.

You feel completely thrown out of balance from your life traditions.
The following questions are common: Why can’t I sleep? Why don’t I feel like myself? Why do I feel numb, depressed, anxious, stressed, and panicky? I cannot deal with my family, friends, or school and work! How do I deal with discrimination, oppression, microaggressions, marginalization, racism at work or school, etc.? The feelings and symptoms you are experiencing may be about your body and mind trying to adjust to difficult and stressful life experiences. These circumstances heavily impact your ability to stay positive and focus on work or school due to feeling. Especially with everything that’s going on in our world right now

Brief Therapeutic Coaching requires motivation, discipline and commitment but can be very effective and relatively short-term.
Time is of the essence. Let's face it, men are often reluctant to enter therapy as they find it stigmatizing or a sign of being weak or even skeptical of it's effectiveness. Men often take a problem-solving, solution-focused approach to life and that is not always congruent with most therapy models where the focus is on discussing feelings, exploring the past or "processing" experiences. As a cognitive behavioral therapist with an emphasis on solution focused & positive, strengths based interventions, I use a more active, action oriented & short term approach that works well for men and includes a more stoic philosophy.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
