As a counselor, life coach, and certified clinical hypnotherapist for over twenty-five years, I utilize talk therapy, hypnotherapy and guided deep meditation for life enhancement and advancement.
Imagine yourself letting go of fears, gaining power, confidence and happiness, releasing sadness and anxiety, losing weight, quitting tobacco, alcohol or other addictions, ending insomnia....in other words, becoming the successful, happy and fulfilled person you desire and deserve to be! Hypnotherapy utilizes the power of your subconscious mind, which is a major portion of your total mind, to create the positive habits and outlook that you consciously want but may have eluded you. Results can be fast and permanent.

The most important relationship in your life is the one you have with yourself.
People call a psychologist's office when there is a problem, a crisis, something is not working. It isn't the first place you go; it's often a choice of last resort. It's difficult to make the phone call, send the email, commit to a time, and then actually show up. If you are willing to wade through those difficult first steps, it is our job from that point to create an environment of acceptance.

My life experience, formal education, and training gives me a strong set of ways to support you in becoming more who you want to be.
I have immediate virtual openings. My work is with couples, families, and groups of people committed to learning and development. I also help individuals. Together, we'll improve communication patterns and relationships skills; deepen or build your purpose and joy for living; create a life that is more in alignment with your desires and values; foster the care and respect you want; consider and support your identity and its full expression; and manage challenges with more skill and confidence. Living intentionally, including being in therapy, isn't always easy. But it's often far more satisfying than repeating our outdated habits.

I combine hard-earned life wisdom with my professional training to create a non-judgmental, empathetic, and respectful space for you to take a moment to focus on you.
Watching someone you love struggle can be painful. It can be hard to watch someone you love experience the ups and downs of entering recovery and then falling back into old behavior patterns. They can get caught up in their head looking for the perfect answer – or any answer – to solve their problems. Often people find themselves in an uncomfortable limbo of not knowing what to do in those moments of struggle. These are the moments that a professional outside the situation can provide a space for you to reflect and explore how to create a life with less pain and more joy.

I provide virtual therapy and coaching sessions for my clients.
My goal is to help every child, adolescent, and/or young adult touched by ADHD navigate through their specific challenges, and find their unique areas of brilliance. I have been practicing as a child and adolescent psychologist for over twenty years. I work closely with youth, parents, educators, and families. One of my primary areas of expertise is neuropsychological testing, which has given me great insight into how children and adolescents learn. I founded my own organization, ADHD&U, in 2019 after writing a book about raising my own son with ADHD (Raising Will: Surviving the Brilliance and Blues of ADHD).

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
