If you are finding life stressful, now is a good time to reach out for assistance. Life changes, relationships, traumatic experiences and day to day life pressures can take a toll on mental health. Difficult experiences contribute to depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. We all need a safe place to process with an individual that provides us with a non- judgmental prospective. I will create a safe, therapeutic space for you to discuss your individual story and your goals. Together we will build on your strengths and work toward meeting your goals and better health.

I am accepting New Clients. Have you been waiting for something to change but not sure how or where to start? I work with individuals, couples, organizations and communities that feel alone and isolated, or have become stuck, stressed or stale in how they are communicating, solving problems, coping with losses and changes or making decision. We all go through these times as part of life and work cycles, but there's no need to go through them alone. Sometimes a caring but objective ally can be helpful. I'm here to listen and help as I can.

Often the goal of therapy is for clients to develop the capacity to resolve personal problems with the support of a therapist. The clinicians at Counseling Services for Wellbeing work collaboratively with the clients to build on their existing strengths, enhance relationships, increase and procure a support system and obtain the necessary skills and tools to lead a happier and more fulfilling life. We strive to work in a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, tailoring to each client’s individual needs and goals to help achieve the personal growth they are striving for.

Not much in life can be more apprehensively thought about as change.
People treated at Westwinds Behavioral Health get better. The front line treatment is predominantly CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy) along with Narrative Therapy. Clients prioritize & identify goals they desire to reach. They learn the tools to construct the functionality & desired outcomes for their lives. Therapy is a client centered approach regardless of the presenting issues. When things are not working out in life folks discover that each of us has within us resources to author our desired next chapter of life. Personalized success is identified by individual, couple & family accomplishment & achieving desired results.

Improving your ability to handle life’s challenges and reducing stress.
I provide non-judgmental, empathetic, and person-centered approach to therapy. My goal as a licensed counselor will be to develop a collaborative relationship where each client feels empowered to act as an expert in developing healthy coping skills, manage anxiety, depression, navigate difficult life transitions, reduce stress and emotional distress, to enhance communication skills and relationships. In therapy, we can learn to become more aware of our thoughts and actions, of how negative thought patterns and behaviors may be blocking our self-awareness and making us unhappy, and how we can change.

It is hard for many of us to reach out to someone for help. It may be embarrassment, or being unsure in knowing how therapy would help to heal you. Our journey together will be a compassionate, nonjudgemental classroom where you will learn more of your pure self and its ability to heal. It is important that we both see clearly in our work together: "There’s one skill at the center of any healthy family, company, classroom, community, university or nation — the ability to see someone else deeply, to know another person profoundly, to make them feel heard and understood.” David Brooks, New York Times

Meaningful and lasting change can result from powerful therapeutic conversations. I look forward to supporting you on your unique walk in this world. Trained in Narrative, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, Positive Psychology, Solution Focused, Trauma Recovery, and Systems therapies, I work hard to meet your goals in an efficient and effective way. Exceptions to an identified problem often point the way to elegant solutions; individuals frequently discover they already know the best solutions to their problems-to-solve. With oodles of warm, active support, we identify those solutions and how to bring them into your life.

For 14+ years I’ve had the privilege of specializing in helping men (and couples) get un-stuck from patterns of destructive behavior and move from frustration, isolating pain and shame toward a life of renewal and satisfying relationships. Wherever your starting point, I’m honored to help you identify the underlying issues, which may have developed from dysfunctional family of origin dynamics, childhood trauma or abuse, or having never learned the coping skills to handle life’s stressors in a healthy way. Our experience of freedom and forward momentum expands when we face our hidden behaviors and choose honesty with those we love.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
