I have been in the field of Social Work since 1989, starting my career in teaching in 1984 and quickly moved to Social Work. I have spent my career in the public sector until I opened my practice in 2007. I center my career around helping people get through challanges that life puts in our path. I offer a comfortable and supportive environment where it is safe to explore various issues that life presents. I feel it is an honor to work with individuals trying to better their life and have chosen me to assist with their journey.

I'm an Individual, Couples, Marriage, and Family Therapist. That means I know how to listen deeply to what's most important to you. I won't just be talking at you or mechanically smiling and nodding with intermittent outbursts of cheerleading. I'm a Strength Coach and a Holistic Health Coach. That means I have an integrated approach and I care about your nutrition, fitness, relationships, career, mind, body, and spirit. As a Therapist and Strength Coach, barbells, kettlebells, relationships, and the most intimate matters of the heart are the tools of my trade. When used properly, they all promote growth.

I work with all aged clients. I have long -term school experience: teacher, counselor, administrator. I enjoy all ages.Many people enjoy my mix of therapeutic and personal coaching styles. During the years, I have advanced my training into divorce mediation and custody mediation. I have also expanded my clientelle to include people who have long-term illness with pain. I work with health issues to help people learn to better adapt to their condition while also finding and concentrating on creating healthy lifestyle choices and personal calmness. I consider my background in addiction as a pathway to help people achieve wellness.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who has devoted my clinical work to assisting adult individuals with a broad spectrum of concerns. My life’s journey has allowed me to gain knowledge and experience in many areas. I would be honored to share guidance on a deeper level which is why I received my Master’s in Social Work. My specialties are grief and loss as well as life/career transitions. Grief can take many forms. It can be due to the loss of a loved one, but can also follow from the loss of a job or home, a divorce, loss of a beloved pet, or becoming an empty nester. I am a Military veteran with 30 plus years of experience working with patients in psychiatric hospitals, state mental health facilities, Illinois Department of Corrections, and in private practice.
