I help my clients to learn more about the origin of certain limiting beliefs about themselves and the world, and how these beliefs inform their current actions and relationships. I am a solution focused Licensed Professional Counselor with additional training in marriage and family therapy. I utilize a holistic approach when working with clients. Teri’s theoretical orientation is primarily based on CBT, solution focused interventions, and a 12 step model of addiction. She also uses expressive arts to help clients work through their feelings and thoughts in a different way when conversation reaches a “stuck” point and talk therapy is not enough. It is my belief that events happen in patterns - some healthy, some unhealthy. As we explore the presenting problem, I help my clients to recognize and explore patterns. Between sessions, I assign homework that includes journaling & worksheets exploring automatic thoughts.
