While life is a gift, a "well-lived life" requires focus, secure transparency, discipline, and a regenerating drive to fulfill one's purpose. For this reason, I work with individuals and groups to inspire and empower individual and interpersonal development across life's various areas. I have applied this purpose in various settings, including universities, churches, civic groups, medical and psychological clinics, businesses, law enforcement facilities, emergency response facilities, hospitals, and in my own private practice.

Welcome to therapy! You may be asking yourself what is it that I’m feeling and who can I trust to process these feelings with? If you’ve found this page, that also means you’re looking for change in your life and I might just be the therapist to help you find it! I'm a LMSW with my Master's degree in Social Work. Personally, I've been in Atlanta long enough to identify as a native and hold other important titles such as daughter, mom, and post-cancer thriver. I’ve developed a niche for working with clients who may be struggling with significant medical diagnoses while also working heavily in case managing military veterans/families.

The goal of coaching is to enable you to move from where you are right now to where you want to be.
Society places unrealistic expectations on women to be the time keepers, planners, organizers, and happy-makers of the world. The weight of that burden is crushing, causing women to ignore their own needs. Not only that, but when they fall short, women feel shame, guilt, anxiety, frustration, and inadequacy. I’m a Mental Wellness Coach specializing in helping you overcome emotional and behavioral obstacles. I provide coaching remotely by phone or video conference. Get the help you need in the convenience and privacy of your office or home.

You may be reluctant to contact a therapist believing you should be able to solve life's problems without help. That is not necessary!! All of us, with complicated and stressful lives can have struggles. Therapy can help you learn the skills you have not had a chance to develop. Psychotherapy can help when sadness or anxiey is interfering with your happiness and can help identify the obstacles that interfere with you reaching your goals. Additionally, your marriage and family relationships can improve greatly with therapy by helping you develop better communication skills and understand the underlying issues.

Therapeutically, Stan uses the metaphor that life is like a hiking trail. It has ups and downs, easy stretches and difficult inclines, rewarding sights, and gut-wrenching days when it feels like the rain is following us specifically. Using a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Constructivist Narrative Therapy, Stan works alongside his client, not only to understand patterns of behavior and how to adjust them, but also to dive deeper and uncover the strength and resilience every human is capable of.

Now that you have taken the first courageous step in creating a difference in your life or relationship, I invite you to take the second.
Hi. I’m glad you found your way here. I want you to know that if you and your partner are in need of a little extra help to lovingly and kindly navigate these times of uncertainty, I am available. These days are unprecedented with big and important changes happening moment by moment. It is so important to feel and know we have a space in our most significant relationship where we can share, listen, and be heard. There is no greater time than now to feel like we have a partner who is walking along side us. I would welcome the opportunity to help you do just that. Together, you can get through this.

By establishing a cooperative and supportive relationship, clients can feel safe to explore, be their authentic selves and begin working through current life difficulties to facilitate lasting change.
We all want to feel heard and express ourselves in a way that feels comfortable. For some, it may not solely be through verbal communication. I enjoy working alongside my clients to establish a therapeutic relationship that provides a foundation to identify goals and move toward them together utilizing mindfulness, skill building and person-centered talk therapy as appropriate. I focus on each individuals journey and meeting the individual where they are.

I view therapy as a collaborative process with clients to create a safe, empowering environment to comfortably explore the story of their life as they continue to write it.
I believe that everyone is an author of their own story. And as with any story, the main character experiences challenges they are working to overcome. I believe that we as people experience language in a way that has created the challenges we experience as main characters, and we find difficulty in writing our story past these challenges. I work together with my clients to explore their story and assist how they want to change using their existing skills and introducing others as we take a journey to reach the goals they want.

I work with individuals, couples, and families, who want to improve communication, heal old wounds, create deeper connections, and improve quality of life.
Do you long for increased understanding, improved communication, and deeper connection with your partner? Are you arguing more and enjoying each other less? Is the romance gone? Are you concerned about your child's mood or behavior? Does he/she seem anxious or depressed? Are you worried that you may repeat destructive patterns from your childhood? Would you like to improve communication with your child? Or, are you interested in working through your own individual unresolved issues or situational problems? Would you like to learn healthier coping skills, let go of self-defeating patterns, and move toward your full potential?

Trying to figure out how the puzzle pieces of life fit together is not easy. Relationships can be a beast. I will work with you to identify what’s most important to you while crystallizing your relationship goals in a manner that empowers you to incorporate actual skills into your everyday life and relationship. For example, improving communication, exploring intimacy, and the art of letting go of past traumas can allow you to discover what works for your unique relationship. Embrace the healing process, learn to set healthy boundaries, and communicate from a place of love.

I believe therapy helps us understand the power of the mind. This is especially useful when we feel disconnected, marginalized, or stigmatized. When we feel this way, learning how the mind channels this information through thoughts, feelings, emotions, and perceptions, can influence us to recognize our own cognitive processes and how they impact our life. If we attend to our cognitive processes in a healthy way, it may lead to regulation of mood, clarity, balance and feelings of peace. We start to evolve and accept certain things about ourselves. We begin to feel at peace from within. I help my clients through this process.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
