I have always known that helping others is my purpose. My own personal life challenges and feeling that I was in a dark place pushed me a strong desire to understand myself and my feelings at a deeper level. I realized that I wanted to leave the world better than I had found it, and I wanted to do so by helping others to heal. My own healing journey brought me to help others through therapy. I use a strengths-based approach to help my clients ease the pain that they are experiencing, by not only being there and offering an empathetic ear, but by helping them to find the joy in life that they may have thought would be lost forever.

My work is trauma informed, taking into consideration the specific needs of each individual based on their past experiences. I specialize in understanding and solving the life problems of the individual adult (18 and up) which may cause depression and anxiety and have developed a deep understanding of the pressures inherent in occupations that can fuel these conditions. Hello! I am Tammy McAdoo, LCSW. I am located in a rural town in PA. I have worked in case management, substance abuse disorders, in schools, and as an outpatient therapist. I truly enjoy helping others make improvements to their life. I like the client to set their goals and work toward them at their pace. I use a client-centered approach and simply provide guide rails to help them reach their goals.
