I've worked in the mental health field for over 25 years and provide psychotherapy and consultation services to those in NY and NJ. Having worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and community counseling clinics, I specialize in treating emotion dysregulation, addictions, mood and anxiety disorders, and in helping clients develop coping and resilience. I've served as president for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s NJ Chapter and am currently a Staff Psychologist at Montclair State University's Counseling and Psychological Services.
I'm trained in Dialectical and Cognitive Behavior Therapies and Mindfulness. While my graduate training provided both breadth and depth of knowledge in several theoretical orientations, I sought CBT specific supervision to effectively treat a variety of anxiety disorders such as panic, phobias and OCD (using Exposure/Response Prevention).
After earning my PhD, I've obtained additional training in distress tolerance, trauma, and suicide specific interventions. I've completed Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Intensives, Dialectical Behavior Therapy Intensive Training through Behavioral Tech, CBT Training at The Beck Institute, and I'm a registered yoga teacher.
