Liberation Psychotherapy is a psychotherapy practice that provides both in-person (at Rockefeller Center/Midtown Manhattan) and virtual outpatient mental health services. Liberation Psychotherapy is rooted in the belief that mental health is shaped not only by the inner life of the self, but by the social, cultural, political, and economic realities in which people live. Identity profoundly influences how individuals move through the world, and experiences of othering, marginalization, and oppression can create enduring psychological distress and trauma.
Our work is grounded in humanistic and liberation-oriented psychotherapies that center the inherent worth, dignity, and agency of each person. We believe healing occurs through meaningful, collaborative relationships between therapist and client, guided by empathy, deep listening, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard.

Groups
Gay Men's Group (Hybrid)
The purpose of the group is to help foster a sense of belonging and community among gay men by way of exploring gay identity and mental health. Over the past two decades as gay men have experienced integration, there are unintended consequences of the decentralization of gay men: Issues emerging around identity, dating, relationships, intimacy, loss/grief, sex/sexuality, work/life balance, family, masculinity, isolation, depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma. This is a process-oriented, psychoeducational, mutual support group. Examples of recent topics: belonging, mindset, self-actualization, authenticity, psychological flexibility, imposter syndrome, attachment style, Am I good enough?
