I am a licensed counselor in the State of Michigan. I was a psychiatrist in China 25 years ago, while I no longer practice as a medical doctor, this experience helps my work as a mental health counselor. My scope of practice includes working with individuals experiencing challenges of physical, mental, psychiatric, developmental, cognitive, intellectual or chronic illness affecting functioning; I also work with couples and families; offer services to service members, veterans, and their families. Together, we will work on understanding how cognitive, behavioral, biological, and social learning factors contribute to our life.
I am a good listener and passionate about individual's life journey, self-identity, acculturation, relationship and career path. When we sit down to listen, learn and share different perspectives, we unlock entirely new ways of seeing ourselves. We can alter how to react toward stress, build resilience for ourselves and healthy relationships with others.
By emphasizing informed choice, empowerment and the ownership of their action, every individual maximizes their potential in an inclusive cultural environment. Advocating and raising awareness of mental health and maintaining their integrity in the community are part of my missions.
