About

I have extensive expertise helping clients deal with OCD, trauma, anxiety, depression and specific phobias through a variety of modalities including Exposure and Response Prevention, narrative, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, including Positive Psychology and animal assisted therapy. I am a certified OCD therapist and I’m also trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma. I’m a Pet Partners therapy animal handler and sometimes bring Annabelle, my Berner, for animal assisted therapy with clients. Because I spent 3 decades living and working overseas, I have come to view this work through a multi-cultural lens.
I am Board Certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors. I received my certificate in Exposure and Response Prevention from Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety, University of Pennsylvania. Trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Parenting), BTTI -certified Pediatric OCD, member Climate Psychology Alliance N. America
My counseling approach, regardless of modality, begins with the social justice foundation that Antioch University instills in their graduates. Clients are encouraged to learn how to navigate their issues and become skilled in managing their issues independently. During ERP, clients will control the pace and intensity of the work.
