If the mind-body connection is drawing you in more and more, it’s time to look at somatic psychotherapy. The body is the key to what is happening in our minds and vice versa. Your mind is not a mysterious black box to be interrogated; it’s an open book with a story to tell. It tells us a story through your body. You know "The Body Keeps the Score" (van der Kolk), but did you know somatic therapy is the tool used to heal from old trauma that's causing you problems today? Childhood trauma, both big and so small you might not remember, is buried in the body.
The method I use, somatic breathwork, opens the door and allows us, together, to see what about your past is holding you back today. Your nervous system is wise and will guide us. Each breathwork session weaves the story of you, and the fog lifts as you come to know the truth. Good therapy always means hard work, but the somatic release is the reward.
Clients find it provides peace and clarity beyond what could ever be experienced in typical talk therapy. I've loved doing this transformative work for 8 years.
