The core of my work is creating a safe space where clients can feel heard, respected, and understood. A full and satisfying life is unique to each person; I will collaborate with you as you move toward the life you want to live. Understanding each client's culture, identities, and worldview is central to my approach. Not only is it important to deeply understand you as an individual, but also to explore how factors in the wider environment either promote your well being or intensify your distress. A holistic approach to wellness involves both the individual and their wider world.
I draw from many approaches to help clients live happy, authentic lives. These include mindfulness, using one's values to guide change, the impact of self-talk on one's mood, and existential theory. I specialize in anxiety concerns and am fluent in research-informed approaches to managing anxiety.
I am passionate about the transformative power of group therapy and work with clients to explore whether group therapy is the best option for their needs. I understand the important role of meaningful work to a satisfying life and offer career counseling tailored to any point on the career path.

Leslie Skaistis's Groups

Understanding Self and Others

Also called an interpersonal process group, in this group, up to 8 clients and two co-facilitators will meet on a weekly basis to explore how clients' patterns of relating to one another serve to either promote well-being or keep one stuck in unsatisfying patterns. Group therapy can be seen as a safe "laboratory" to practice making changes in how you relate to and interact with others. Research has shown that group therapy can be the ideal treatment for many concerns. It allows clients to learn from and support one another, which is a uniquely powerful combination of experiences.
