Hi, I'm Leslie! My name is Leslie McCoy and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) based in New Orleans, LA and currently working with clients in Washington, DC via telehealth. I primarily work with adults and help my clients to develop compassion for themselves, coping skills, and ways to identify and communicate their needs effectively, so that they can live life more honestly, and become more confident in their ability to navigate challenging situations.
My approach to therapy is client-focused which means the techniques and methods that I use vary based on the needs of the client. It is also strength-based, and I typically use Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, along Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. One size fits all might work for clothes, but not for therapy.
My areas of specialization and interest include working with individuals as they navigate life and career transitions, relationship concerns, anxiety and depression, self-esteem, and multifaceted work/family responsibilities. I'm here to listen without judgment, and I strive to provide clients with an inviting, and safe space to talk to me about anything.
