I am semi-retired, currently taking a few clients short-term on teletherapy, that is up to 10 sessions. Sessions are self-pay. For clients dealing with an acute situation or a past recent trauma, this can work very well. In our initial conversation, we will discuss whether short-term therapy would be appropriate for you. I use primarily EMDR and trauma informed therapy. In addition, I apply a strength-based model rooted in attachment theory and lessons learned from mindfulness, CBT and ACT. These are all therapies designed to empower the individual to cope with symptoms without being defined by them.
I have 30 years of experience.. My main focus now twofold: is to work with clients dealing with trauma of a recent event or an older event where past is still present and intruding in daily life. Secondly, I deal with life transitions. I apply the framework of EMDR Therapy, a well researched and effective method. to process trauma.
My continued learning, teaching and consulting keep me fresh in my approach to clients, partnering with each to identify the best approach. For over 15 years I have been serving as an EMDR consultant, helping therapists. I also have a strong interest in cross-cultural issues and immigrant adjustment. I currently volunteer with Ukrainians and Israelis.
