I love working with all kinds of people, individually, in families, and in groups. I was trained as a psychoanalyst and know the value of insight. But, over time I've found that when people feel warmly connected, difficulties fall away and life begins to open up. I feel fortunate in being able to work with people from varied ethnic and racial backgrounds, diverse relational and sexual orientations, and creative and professional worlds. I'm especially interested in working with those who suffer from 'invisible disabilities,' of mood, development, attention and learning and their loved ones.
I am a clinical social worker and psychoanalyst with advanced training in group therapy, clinical supervision and mood and eating disorders treatment. I have also acted as an advocate and educational consultant in collaboration with other therapists, teachers, and parents of adolescents and young adults.
I have had the privilege of working with psychoanalytic mentors who were extraordinarily warm, intuitive, and creative and more recently with teachers who use meditation as part of the therapeutic process. I can flexibly offer whatever is needed from traditional, self, and relational therapies and integrate them with mindfulness meditation.
