My ideal client is someone who has experienced something in their life that prompted them to want to change some aspect of themselves and their environment. Because change is always hard, even when for the better, you may need some assistance with implementing change and everything that comes along with change such as resistance from family and friends, establishing new boundaries and gaining a renewed sense of self. Ideally you are motivated to achieve goals and open to new ideas.
I have experience working with children in crisis and children experiencing changes or difficulties at home and at school, and children struggling to adjust. I have experience working with adults adjusting to changes in relationships, changes at work, changes due to aging, changes due to medical conditions or diagnoses, and addiction.
Beginning therapy for the first time or starting over with a new therapist takes a great deal of courage and generally results from something that disrupted your life. I respect the position you are in and can help identify goals and strengths for moving forward in difficult situations. I understand that seeking help is not easy for most people.
