The foundation of my practice stems from the belief that every person has an inner capacity for well-being. I believe that when a safe environment is created, people can access their own inner resources and discover their own solutions. I strive to create a warm, supportive environment which allows children and adults to heal and begin the journey of reconnecting to themselves. I see my role in counseling being an empathic, deep listener as you explore and identify your unique values and goals.
My methods are rooted in somatic practices that include grounding exercises, neuroscience, mindfulness and attachment. These approaches increase nervous system regulation, aiding clients to rebound quicker from stressful and challenging life experiences. I focus on how trauma informed somatic touch allows the body’s systems to rest, relax and balance.
I am certified in Synergetic Play Therapy which uses therapeutic play-based interventions helping children to explore their emotions and ways to practice how to cope and integrate these emotions more effectively. At the same time, I gently assist parents in becoming more aware of their internal processes and ways they can support their child's big emotions.
