Are you struggling with problems in relationships? Hoping someone will change? Do you get lost in a relationship? I can help you. I have extensive experience working with families/couples/individuals struggling with substance abuse, eating disorders, gambling and self destructive behaviors. I collaborate with my clients to achieve their goals while gaining insight into their patterns of behavior. Our work will help regulate emotions, to respond, not react. I am passionate about collaborating with clients using a variety of modalities. My clients feel secure, in a trusting environment as we address any concerns and goals.
Prior to my private practice, I did in-home counseling for a Trauma Center helping families heal from child abuse, addictions and DV. I also worked for four years in an Intensive out-patient program for eating disorders. I presently treat addicts in treatment centers for alcohol/substance abuse.
I use EMDR to help my clients reprocess trauma, or adverse childhood experiences. My ability to role play, helps my clients improve communication skills and their relationships. I am authentic, compassionate and direct. My personal success of 40+ yrs. in a 12-step program adds to my understanding of addiction. I look forward to working with you!
