Hello. My name is Lesli Birkhead, and I am an LMFT). I have experience in most areas of life’s issues especially grief/loss, depression, and anxiety. I utilize different modalities in my practice. Some of those modalities include CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and Gestalt. I find that a mix of eclectic therapy is more useful than just one therapeutic model. I currently work with adult and senior clients and my areas of specialty include grief as well as other types of loss, depression, and anxiety. I’ve also worked with clients who have special issues such as insomnia and chronic illness/chronic pain.
I want every client to feel very comfortable talking with me. At times I will listen and at other times I will try to guide and teach. Sometimes I will be direct depending on the situation. I believe honest communication is best, but I also understand trust is a process and can take time.
Goals are important to show for all your hard work and therapy is hard work. There may only be one goal initially but in the process of therapy other issues may be identified and more goals needed with revisions from time to time. I will always make goals clear and achievable.
