Dr Mark Malan, PhD, MPH, DACS and Colette Malan, MSW, LCSW, CST are a husband and wife clinical team specializing in sexology and psychotherapy. Mark is a Board Certified Clinical Sexologist and IPC Certified Couple Communications Facilitator. Colette is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and Psychotherapist.

My PhD training as a counseling psychologist affords me flexibility to support multiple life concerns, and at the root of my work is the belief that relationships are capable of healing. I build strong alliances with those whom I serve in order to best meet client directed goals and foster sustained change. I adhere to evidence-based practices in psychology, and research evidence strongly supports the importance of building a strong therapeutic alliance. Everyone has a unique lens through which they see the world and I strive to see the world as my clients do to provide the best care.

We offer services and therapy to the LGBTQ community and their families. We provide mental health and couple/family therapy in a safe environment for all. We would love to talk with you about your needs. Some of our clients meet with a different therapist each week depending on their needs.

I believe psychotherapy is the art of helping others to find inner peace and reach personal goals. Sadness, anxiety, anger and other non-peaceful feelings often result from trauma or difficult life events. How to deal with these feelings? From the first session I work to understand your concerns and the direction you want in therapy. The direction and plan in therapy will be tailored to your specific needs. I am an integrative therapist primarily informed from Humanistic, CBT/ACT, Existential, and Gestalt therapy. I consider myself to be an active therapist, working to be fully present with you, while I ensure you have your space in sessions.

My focus is to guide clients in identifying patterns in their lives and relationships that are causing distress or keeping them from living in harmony with their goals.

She has over seven years of experience in working with children and youth in residential, school, and private settings. Kasi adopts a client-centered lens and believes that each individual has within them the ability to heal, grow, thrive, and become their true selves. When working with children and adolescents, she believes in working hand in hand with parents and caregivers to help them to create a home environment that their child can thrive in.

I've provided over 10,000 hours of therapy and like Confucius said, "Choose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life." I manged LDS Family Services for 13 years and loved directing the 12-step Addiction Recovery Program in Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania. I've been recruited by multiple residential treatment centers, a hospital, a skilled nursing facility, and by an IOP program assessing and treating substance abuse and domestic violence.

My personal philosophy on trauma informed psychotherapy is based on western & eastern influences & focuses on a three phase model developed by Dr. Judith Herman-stabilization, reprocessing, & re-connection. In therapy with individuals, I work together to honor your unique life history & explore the impact it has on your functioning. In my work I have discovered that amazingly, the natural healing capacity of the human brain runs so deep that even the parts of our lives that are causing us difficulty can guide us toward healing.
