I am a Licensed Psychologist and the Clinical Director of Sollars and Associates Integrative Counseling and Psychological Services. I have been providing counseling and psychotherapy for over 30 years in the Metro Detroit area and our group practice spans across the state of Michigan. Our group is trained in dealing with a variety of issues including: Attention Deficit Disorder, School Difficulties, Interpersonal Issues such as bullying, adult ADD and related issues, Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Mood Disorders, Grief and Loss, Parenting, Educational Concerns, Relationship Concerns, Career and Work Issues, and Sexual Issues.

Satisfying marriage/committed relationships are a specific challenge faced by many. I work in both individual and couples therapy. There are many ways to approach human problems, including: how family of origin influences personality; one's relationship to one's thoughts and feelings; self-defeating beliefs, both conscious and unconscious; self-defeating behavior. I believe that with support and the right therapeutic relationship you can make the changes you want in your life. I am a Certified Sex Therapist and I attended the Sexual Health Certificate Program at the University of Michigan. I work with folks who want to fully experience sexual pleasure, but aren't sure how. This may be related to sexual pain, sexual trauma, or an upbringing lacking education about sexual health. My approach honors and addresses situations in the past, but also gives you ideas about how to feel better in the here and now.

Love and Healing Therapy provides a safe place for clients to learn skills for dealing with today and the future. Sometimes it is not easy to be in present day if we are carrying around the past. Throughout my career, my primary focus has been working with clients with either severe traumatic experiences and/or extensive trauma histories.I love working and supporting people through life transitions and exploration of identity. I have worked with many clients who hold identities within the LGBTQIA2+ community. I can relate to many of the challenges experienced by members of marginalized, oppressed, and minority communities. A portion of my professional career has included working with primarily BIPOC clients in Detroit, veterans, people living in different-sized bodies, and those who have concerns around foster care/adoption.

All parts of you are welcome here! I’m a Holistic Social Worker with a contemporary approach. I blend elements of somatic practice, parts work, attachment theory, and Brainspotting to help aid in the transformation of trauma, shame, and other relational challenges. The cornerstone of my work is derived from helping individuals build relationships with all parts of themselves.

I use a collaborative and exploratory (rather than expert) model to help you develop/access resources to navigate life's difficulties. I use approaches supported by research while recognizing the limits of evidence-based therapies which often need to be adapted, abandoned, or incorporated with other practices to meet a person's realities, needs, and strengths. I strive to create a safe supportive relationship and deeply value feedback and dialogue.

At the core of my ethos as a therapist is the notion of empowered connection, whether that be empowering you to connect with yourself, the people around you, or your wider community.
