In therapy, I use a collaborative approach as I believe you already have the internal resources needed for healing, though it may be hidden under layers of doubt or self-protection. It's transformative to explore these layers and rewrite the narrative you have of yourself!

"Learning, Healing, Growing" is my goal for your journey in life. I work from a Cognitive Behavorial Therapy system and take a mindfulness approach. I believe that our daily activities are based on our thinking processes. I like to teach hollistic approaches to dealing with life issues (deep breathing, mindfulness, meditation, etc.) and incorporating positive thinking into sessions. This works with many life issues: depression, stress/anxiety, emotional issues, grief, relationship issues, etc. I have experience with couples, helping to find communication errors and helping to relieve some of the issues that cause the space between two people grow larger.

As a clinical psychologist, my mission is simple: to help you to identify your goals and provide warm, empowering support while you work toward them. My focus is helping teens and adults navigate anxiety, depression and life changes such as divorce, work/school struggles, illness, and loss. Women's issues- the challenges of motherhood and the pressure to "do it all", especially- are of particular interest to me.

Dani graduated with her masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University in Denver, Colorado and then relocated to Traverse City shortly after. Dani also holds a masters degree in College Student Affairs from Eastern Illinois University. Dani works with older teens, young adults, and adults who are struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, life transitions, stress management, LGBTQIA+ Community, trauma/PTSD, and substance use disorders.

For the past 20 years I have had the privilege of working with children, teens, adults, and their families who are struggling with trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, grief and loss, depression, health issues, school or work problems. I have significant training working with childhood trauma and attachment issues. Many of my clients want to change some patterns that are preventing them from living the life they want or achieving their life goals. My approach to therapy is collaborative and draws from my experience in relationship-based, cognitive behavioral therapy, and family systems work.

My name is Kala, and I am a clinical counselor/ therapist. I feel blessed to work with people and have hopes to navigate everyone’s personal journey of healing. My history with addiction and mental health is through my very close relationships in life as well as my own personal experiences. I am a Christian and truly believe each person’s life has purpose. I have worked in the mental health field since 2019 and have a strong background in assessment as well as DBT and CBT focuses. I primarily work with people who struggle with anxiety, depression, bipolar, and BPD. For me, the focus of behavioral health treatment is balancing between acceptance and change - working hard together to embrace the things we cannot control, and problem-solve the things that we can. In addition to processing, cognitive reframing, and challenging thoughts, I place a strong value in skills-based psycho-education. I own a candle store that I share with a tattoo artist. We have candles, tattoos, and counseling all in one location. I believe in making mental health services more accessible and welcoming. I try to meet my clients where they are and discover where they want to be. Aromatherapy, music, visualization, and an emphasis on recovering all that is lost when traumatized are at the center of my approach. We work together to remember the things loved most before trauma.
