Within that, my experience, skill, and insight help you to heal from painful past experiences. I am certified in trauma-focused CBT and other evidence-based modalities. My therapy style is collaborative and client centered. I believe each person is unique and has their own story, their own challenges and their own needs. I approach therapy from a humanistic perspective and use a variety of methods to help my clients. I have training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). I am open to working with my clients using the tools and methods they find most useful. I enjoy collaborating with my clients to help them find solutions to challenges, improve their well-being and support them in their journey.

Hello and welcome! I go by Mac and I am a queer, Chinese-Panamanian and White-American mental health counselor. I welcome folks of all identities and their unique reasons for seeking counseling. My intention is to empower clients toward holistic wellness, particularly those who hold marginalized and systematically oppressed identities. Dr. Betty has a PH.D. in Counseling and Clinical Psychology, she is a certified addictions specialist and an EMDR trauma expert. Dr. Betty has over administered over 56,000 immigration evaluations and specializes in immigration counseling. She assists clients and their families with U Visa, VAWA, Asylum, hardship, and all types of immigration cases. Her overall training and extensive immigration experience of over 16 years and her multicultural background provide her with the skills needed to create a proficient evaluation.

I came into therapy later in life and graduated from the University of South Florida with a BA in Women and Gender Studies. I am strongly feminist aligned, anti-racist in my work values and activism.
