Throughout the last few years of my work experience I have come to learn that I enjoy supervising other clinicians, as well as working with clients who are also therapists. This work is beautiful and hard, and therapists need space to identify their own emotional needs and get support. As therapists we have a tendency to put others first, but in doing so, we can sometimes neglect our relationship with ourselves. As healers, our own health is our biggest asset. I love guiding therapists in the process of healing their own stuff so that they can show up more effectively with their clients.

As therapists, we spend so much of our time trying to get it right, trying to connect, and trying to help others make sense of the world around us. All too often, we forget to check in with ourselves and ask “is this right for me and does it make sense for me now?”. As a therapist helping other therapists, I’m invested in uncovering what comes up for therapists on a personal level as they are doing therapy, how that story reflects their past, and how to work through the transference and countertransference that may be occurring.

Psychotherapy is not always about focusing on the problems in life but is often more about solution building. Although it acknowledges present problems and past causes, it predominantly explores your current resources and future hopes – helping you to look forward and use your own strengths to achieve your goals. It works by helping you to overcome problems using solution building concepts to foster change and helping you to develop a set of clear, concise and realistic goals. My focus as an integrative art therapist and counselor is on holistic well-being. I believe all of us have the potential to be whole and healthy. Even though our thoughts and feelings about life’s experiences and challenges may have impacted our mental health and well-being, they are still inside of us, waiting to be rediscovered. My goal is to support you in using your inner resources to successfully move forward in a meaningful way. One way to do this is through art therapy, which is fun and engaging, and requires no artistic skills.
