I am delighted to be in private practice in West Hollywood. In addition to this work, I am a primary therapist in agencies where I treat clients with co-occurring substance abuse, food and sex addictions. My training includes work at Being Alive, an HIV/AIDS service organization, helping clients heal from chemical dependence, trauma, and co-occurring health challenges using LGBT Affirmative Therapy. During my time as an intern, I worked at Promises Malibu, Breathe Life Healing Centers, Refuge Recovery Centers and the Narrative Counseling Center. I have a Masters in Psychology with an LGBT Specialization from Antioch University.

I've been in private practice for twenty years offering psychodynamic therapy and psychoanalysis. I received my B.A. at the Un. of Iowa where I studied poetry and creative writing, my Ph.D. in clinical psychology at U.C. Berkeley, trained in psychoanalysis at PANY-NYU. I am on the Faculty at San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis, currently accepting new patients only in my San Francisco CA office. I take Aetna insurance through Headway. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Spiritual Director, I work with individuals, couples, and families. I am a 1st generation Korean-American therapist who is fluent in both English and Korean. I am very familiar with the issues that divide 1st and 2nd generation Korean-Americans. Additionally, as an MFT professor I teach a graduate-level counseling course at a local university and supervise interns who are working towards becoming eligible to take their licensing examination. Specifically, I would like to serve as a mediator between 1st and 2nd generation Korean-Americans, catering to the unique generational differences they face so that their families may live together happily. I enjoy working with adults who are interested in becoming more conscious. We all have reactions to things but there are some reactions or triggers that cause emotional pain.
