I am a psychotherapist who has been in private practice for 30 years. Because of the longevity of my work, I have encountered a wide variety of people of all ages and problems. I believe in the dignity and value of each individual person and treat people with empathy, compassion, warmth, and kindness. I give sustained attention during a session and believe that people can solve their own problems with some objective structure and feedback. For my clients' convenience I maintain two offices. Weekend and evening appointments are available.

In this time of crisis and fear that the whole world is experiencing, I think that I must first address how any person who comes to me is coping, how she/he is managing safety and fears for her/himself and his/her family. We cannot dissociate what is happening to all of us now because that replicates what may have happened to many of us in some distant past traumatic experience: Not to talk about what happened. My clients often have struggled with similar problems for years, often working hard in therapy, but not fully understanding the link between their struggles and their experiences in the past.

Drawing on a desire to help people overcome obstacles in their personal relationships, my professional work involves counseling individuals and families in order to achieve conflict resolution and better communication. As a neutral third party, I am better able to identify the challenges my patients face and facilitate positive change. Working with families, it is essential to foster a high level of trust between the therapist and family members. Mutual respect and open communication are essential to the therapeutic process. Engaging patients at their level, I help people find the change that they desire and the strength within themselves to achieve that change.

I believe trust and compatibility are essential to a successful therapeutic relationship. My highest priority is creating a collaborative, safe and accepting environment for fostering change and growth. I work within a broad range of areas including depression, anxiety, life transitions and stressors, couples, parenting and family issues. My areas of specialty include eating disorders, grief and loss and relationship issues. As a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Baylor College of Medicine, I enjoy teaching and supervising Clinical Social Work trainees.

I've built a small, boutique practice that gives each client the time and access they need to a psychologist. You won't be one of 35 clients seen in a week, which is typical in most practices. Instead you will have a dedicated, compassionate psychologist provide you the most evidence-based psychological therapy, coaching, or consultation. This practice is ideal for busy professionals, executives, attorneys, tech leaders, and adolescents with complex needs. I cap my panel to 21 clients a week so each client gets what they need and deserve. I currently can practice telepsychology across the country in 40 states.
