About
My aim is to provide high-quality evidence-based assessment and treatment to children, teens, young adults, and families exhibiting a wide range of behavioral and emotional problems. Common issues I treat include anxiety, depression, poor coping skills, parent-child conflict, sibling conflict, ADHD, panic attacks, social skills deficits, blended family issues, and poor self-esteem (please visit www.drleonmandler.com for a comprehensive listing of issues treated). My treatment approach is primarily based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with treatment carefully matched to the needs of each unique individual and their family.
My methods emphasize working with the family to collaboratively address behavioral and emotional problems. For parents, this may include behavior management help, problem-solving strategies, or stress management. Work with children and teens often includes the development of coping skills to help manage anger, anxiety, sadness, and frustration.
After recently completing my fellowship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, I am excited to bring my warmth, compassion, and clinical skill to the diverse needs of Miami's children, teens, and families.
