I have over 10 years of experience helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate a variety of life's challenges. With advanced training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and in Child-Centered Play Therapy, I specialize in working with trauma survivors and children ages 3-10. I provide a supportive, egalitarian counseling relationship and believe in working alongside clients to maximize their strengths and help them achieve their goals.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients learn how their thoughts and feelings relate to their behaviors. I also incorporate a trauma-focused and mindfulness-based approach to therapy to better understand clients within the context of their experiences and help them learn to be more accepting of themselves.
In working with children, I use play therapy which allows children to express themselves in their natural language. My child clients experience a relationship with a safe adult who responds empathetically, sets limits, returns responsibility to the child, builds self-esteem, and facilitates emotional expression.
