Are you a parent that is worried about your child's academic success, social interactions, or emotional well-being? I am here to help children identify and manage their emotions as well as choose coping skills that work for them. In my experience, I know that children want to be heard and understood in a nonjudgemental environment with the freedom to express themselves and talk openly about their life. I work with children with various struggles including: abuse, academic success, anxiety, behavioral concerns, coping skills, executive functioning, feelings, grief, loss, school success, social interactions, stress, & trauma.
I will provide a safe place for children to process and reflect about their life. In our sessions, we will talk, read books, watch counseling videos, play games, do puzzles, create crafts, make art projects, etc. Children are more willing to talk when they are engaged in a desirable activity. We will build trust and establish a therapeutic relationship.
I want to welcome children into the counseling sessions with confidence that we will work together to address the concerns, set goals, and overcome the challenges they are facing. I believe that clients need control in the direction of the counseling sessions. I approach our sessions on individual needs and not a "one size fits all" approach.
