In 1993 I became a licensed Professional Counselor. I have since been associated with a small group of like-minded therapists creating a people-friendly environment. My office is like a "living area" for private conversations. I enjoy helping individuals, couples and families who seek to move through seemingly intimidating, hopelessly discouraging or simply perplexing life stages. Common themes - job loss, rejection, betrayal of trust, letting go, shame, guilt and self-acceptance - even old emotional scars limiting part of one's personality are all compelling challenges. It is my nature to explore those issues with you.
I believe that my clients have the answers. What are they trying to achieve? What have they tried? On the journey to adulthood, harsh encounters necessitate survival skills and defenses, some of which no longer serve us well. We benefit by identifying those that are strengths, then accessing and drawing upon them.
In addition to being a Licenced Professional Counselor with certification in EMDR, powerful but gentle treatment for emotionally traumatic experiences, a one year post grad training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, years of training in Solution Focused Therapy and Family of Origin therapy.
