Providing a confidential, supportive environment where a client is heard and understood is extremely important, and I take this responsibility very seriously. Developing a relationship of trust is crucial to the process of change for clients of any age.
After establishing a strong working relationship with a client, I use Cognitive-Behavioral techniques, Emotion Focused Therapy and Mindfulness training to help sort out thoughts, emotions, & behaviors. When necessary, I provide information about biology/genetics, social/environmental interactions, attachment, and human development to help clients and their families understand themselves and others in new ways.
I believe there are as many ways to solve a problem as there are people with problems. I work to help clients identify their strengths, and then use these strengths to develop happier relationships, and reach more satisfying life goals.
