I am a licensed clinical psychologist with experience treating depression, anxiety, relationship problems, reactions to trauma/life stressors, and social/behavioral difficulties. I enjoy working with individuals and families who are committed to improving their life situations. I believe it is necessary to provide clients with a safe and accepting environment. Each client's personal situation is unique and should be respected. I attempt to gain an accurate understanding of my client's views and life experiences.
I enjoy working with adult clients who have a desire to understand their emotional experiences and who want to improve the quality of their lives and relationships. I believe an individual's thoughts/feelings about self/others, patterns of relating to others, and expressions of emotion are influenced by childhood and social experiences.
Therapy can help individuals learn skills to resolve relationship problems, improve self-esteem, manage stress more effectively, and become less fearful. Through the therapeutic process; awareness and understanding of oneself can develop, which, in turn, can lead to increased feelings of self-control and an increased sense of well-being.
