PMAD/ Perinatal or Postpartum Mood and Anxiety
Postpartum depression is the most common complication of childbirth. Although the exact cause of postpartum depression remains unclear, it is likely that a number or factors are involved. Changing family roles, hormonal changes, stress, marital strife and a family history of mental illness can all contribute to postpartum depression. Pregnancy & Postpartum Support Group is to bring mothers together to help each other find hope and healing from baby blues, depression and anxiety - during and after pregnancy. This group will discuss stress, depression, anxiety and the difficulties adjusting to motherhood. Group members will learn coping skills, relaxation techniques and communication skills.
