Are you struggling with persistent, intrusive thoughts about past unpleasant events? Do you often ask yourself, "Why can't I just get over this?" Have these experiences made it difficult to trust & connect with others? If so, you may be experiencing signs of PTSD. As a certified clinical trauma professional and someone with my own lived experience of trauma, I understand how trauma impacts the brain and body and the effect this can have on daily life. While we cannot change what happened, I can offer you tools and therapeutic approaches to help these events feel more distant allowing you to focus on the present.
I offer Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). This specific therapy helps the brain reprocess traumatic events, which can change the negative narratives we hold about ourselves. I also integrate other modalities, including Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy
