With 15 years experience as a full-time professional counselor, and an approach that is relaxed, genuine, and honest, I'm ready to work with you! Anxiety, past emotional/verbal abuse, grief, trauma, women's issues, worry, discouragement and life uncertainty are all areas I love working with. I also specialize in treating young adults. My focus as a therapist is for you to feel emotionally safe, valued, and encouraged. Although Christianity is the belief system I use, I respect any beliefs a client has, and will never give you the "just pray more" response. You CAN find healing, and this is a safe place to start!
Trauma comes in many different forms. Emotional loneliness, manipulation, past verbal abuse- all of these ARE traumatic and devastating, and that's what I work with on a regular basis with my clients. I would love the chance to talk with you and help you find inner healing for areas where your heart has felt abandoned, hopeless, rejected or traumatized.
Incorporating a Christian belief system is an area of expertise for me, but this is NEVER to increase fear, guilt, or shame! That isn't God's nature. I won't give you cliche (and hurtful!) church answers that only make pain worse. I hope to encourage my clients through a place of hope for their future, no matter their past pain.
