My ideal client is a younger adult struggling with anxiety and poor self-esteem, as well as experiencing many life transitions. They are struggling with friends, relationships, academics/careers and feel they do not have a purpose. This client wants to build their confidence and communication with others. Their goal is to become a happier version of themselves with understanding how to cope with life stressors in a healthy manner. They want to achieve this goal to reduce the feelings of anxiety and depression.
I would help this client by identifying what is triggering their anxiety. I would utilize CBT therapy to help this client target altering their thoughts. We would practice anxiety coping skills to resist getting controlled by anxiety. I would also have the client practice developing confident, realistic beliefs about themselves to help build self-esteem.
I enjoy helping clients gain a better understanding of what they are going through and that they are not alone in order to help create a strong therapeutic process.
