About
I am a specialist offering cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with mindfulness training for anxiety (generalized anxiety, phobias, social anxiety, health anxiety, etc.), obsessive compulsive or related disorders, perfectionism, insomnia, and post traumatic stress. I also help with depression, substance use, and chronic health conditions as well as difficulties adjusting to life changes, career, or relationships.
CBT is “evidence-based” because researchers find it to be effective for many people. CBT is usually short term and can often work in 6-25 sessions. Some clients come back for “booster sessions” after they complete a course of therapy. Some stay in therapy for longer amounts of time finding it to be helpful.
Changing habits of mind and behavior is hard. Ambivalence and desire for autonomy and control during the process is normal but when you are ready for change, you seek a guide. Contact me to discuss partnering so you can explore different ways of thinking and doing that ultimately lead to symptom relief and building a life more consistent with your values.
